Meghan Markle cancels lunch

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just announced they want to be ‘financially independent’, which apparently to them means letting go of the 5% of their costs covered by taxpayers so that they can…take salaries from their charity work?

If she doesn’t like to lunch, more power to her, no judgement here. I get that with in-law related money comes obligations and totally empathize - I watch The Crown.

Thus, as I leave my non-profit job because I’m financially independent, she will get one to become so. Best of luck to her. I sense that financial independence means different things to us.

Just seems sad that she and I are basically switching places and now are unlikely to become lunch pals. Guess I’ll cross that off my list of potential ways to keep myself occupied.
