Top Three Day Trips From Guanajuato

There are plenty of things to keep you busy in La Presa and downtown Guanajuato, but after you have seen all of that here are some nearby attractions worth a day trip.

Guanajuato's fancier, smaller cousin, SMA has similar architecture but is flat, which means lots of retired Americans and Canadians - and thus higher prices.

Tiles and pottery on José Alfredo Jiménez road

Weird ice cream flavors in main square

3. HACIENDA CORRALEJO

1.5 hour drive

Only tequila factory outside of Jalisco, free tours of the hacienda and tequila making process from 9-5 daily. Also the birthplace of Father Hidalgo, leader of Mexican Independence.
