Guanajuato in general and Bario de la Presa in particular are safe for cities of this size. Take the usual precautions.
We don’t recommend walking far late at night, especially alone. Marked taxis and Ubers are both safe.
There have been some reports of muggings or theft on the mountain trails. Don’t bring valuables and don’t go alone.
Remember to keep the front door locked!
